Corsage was inspired by the comfortable formality of living and dining rooms of designer Jen Hewett’s past. Jen went to Cooper Hewitts Design Triennial last winter, and was touched by the dining room designed by artistsNicole Crowder and Hadiya Williams, which reminded her so much of the dining rooms she’d spent so much time in when she was a kid. These were rooms that were kept clean in case company stopped by, with tables set with the good China for special occasion family dinners. Jen found black and white photos of her teenage aunts in herGrannys living room, dressed in formal gowns and wearing corsages, posing with their prom dates. She thought about the patterns that would have fit in these settings as table linens and wallpaper, upholstery and rugs. Jen designed this collection to evoke those rooms and those treasured family moments.
